The Islamic Economics Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) held a Curriculum Socialization of the 2021 Merdeka Learning – Merdeka Campus (MBKM) for Islamic Economics Students class of 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, online via zoom meeting.
The new curriculum was presented by the Head of the Islamic Economics Undergraduate Study Program, Mrs. Soya Sobaya, SEI., MM, and accompanied by the Secretary of the Islamic Economics Undergraduate Study Program, Mrs. Tulasmi, SEI., MEI., also attended by the Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Science. Islam, namely Mrs. Dr. Rahmani Timorita Yulianti, M.Ag., along with Lecturers and Students of Islamic Economics.
“In general, the new 2021 curriculum is quite significantly different from the previous curriculum, namely the 2017 curriculum:
First, in terms of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) it is more concise to 12 competencies which were previously 41-54 competencies.
Second, the weight of credits is lighter, namely 2-3 credits (+ practicum 1 credit) which was previously 2-6 credits.
Third, the total credits taken are only 144, from the previous 145. Fourth, there are variants of elective courses, namely 3 study programs; 3 concentrations; 3 final project options (Research; Community Service; Business Pioneering) previously there were only 3 concentration options and 1 final project, namely research (thesis).
Fifth, the distribution of courses in the new 2021 curriculum is 20 credits per semester which was previously 17-21 credits per semester.
Sixth, the status of teaching and learning activities (KBM) may be in the study program or outside the higher education study program in accordance with the provisions and approval of the study program, which previously only allowed teaching and learning in the study program,” said Mrs. Tulasmi, SEI., MEI through a zoom meeting.
Ms. Soya Sobaya, SEI., MM also said that every student who takes the final assignment route other than research (thesis), is allowed to work in groups, but reports and publications are carried out by each student according to the concentration of choice.
Conversion of courses from the 2017 curriculum to The new 2021 curriculum will be implemented starting in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, taking into account the credits and GPA taken by students.
