This year, in the 242nd AUN-QA visitation, the Undergraduate Study Program (S1) of Islamic Economics, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) became one of the study programs that participated in the 2021 AUN-QA assessment visitation. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic , the AUN-QA visitation was held online from 25 to 29 October 2021.

“Based on the vision of the Islamic Economics Study Program (PSEI), which is to become an excellent study program at the Asian level. To achieve this, we realize that there are many things that need to be prepared. AUN-QA is part of PSEI’s steps to gain international recognition as well as evaluate our efforts in realizing our vision,” said Mrs. Soya Sobaya, SEI., MM (Wednesday, 01/12).

Next, Mr. Rizqi Anfanni Fahmi, SEI., MSI. also conveyed the uniqueness of the AUN-QA visitation which was carried out online. “The online implementation of AUN-QA is unique, namely the live streaming of university facilities, faculties and study programs. Although AUN-QA is carried out online, the preparations carried out offline include room preparation, internet connection, practice of mastering English as a language for interviews with assessors, and other facilities,” he said (Friday, 26/11).

implementation of AUN-QA is divided into several stages. In the first stage (Monday, 25/10), the activities carried out included opening, discussions with faculty managers, study program managers, SAR teams, and lecturers as well as visits to university facilities which were carried out live streaming. In the second stage (Tuesday, 26/10), the activities carried out were interviews with staff or educators, faculties, universities and students using university-based and home-based methods.

In the third stage (Wednesday, 27/10), the activities carried out included facility visits at the faculty and study program level which were carried out live streaming. On the same day, interviews with alumni and graduate users were also held using university-based and home-based methods. In the fourth stage (Thursday, 28/10), the activities carried out were reviewing and clarifying documents with the SAR team. In the fifth stage (Friday, 29/10), closing.

“Thisseries of visits to the 2021 AUN-QA assessment involved PSEI internal and external stakeholders. The entire UII academic community also helps in its implementation,” said Mrs. Soya Sobaya, SEI., MM (Wednesday, 01/12).

The AUN-QA assessment process is carried out on the pedagogical and educational governance aspects that refer to international accreditation standards. The file assessment process is carried out through a Self Assessment Report (SAR) which is sent to the AUN-QA head office. This assessment was carried out by a team of assessors from AUN on eight criteria (Expected Learning outcome, Program Structure and Content, Teaching and Learning Approach, Student Assessment, Academic Staff, Student Support Services, Facilities and Infrastructure, Output and Outcomes). The assessor team from AUN consisting of Prof. Dr. Alyssa Paleo-Alampay (Lead Assessor) from the Philippines and Dr. Nguyen Thi Huyen (Assessor) from Vietnam.

Mrs. Soya Sobaya, SEI., MM expressed hope for the Islamic Economics Study Program after attending the AUN-QA visitation. “AUN-QA certification does not only lead an institution to gain international recognition but is also part of the effort in continuous improvement. Furthermore, PSEI aspires to become a leading study program at the Asian level through the recognition of international accreditation as stated in the 2016-2036 PSEI master plan,” he said (Wednesday, 01/12).
