International Youth Leader (IYL) is a leadership training and education platform for Indonesian youth formed by International Youth Leaders engaged in Student Exchange, Leadership Camp, Halal Tour and Travel. The program aims to train and explore the potential of youth as leaders of the people who excel in achievement, are professional in their work, have good morals in behavior, and are ready to compete in the international arena.

The selection of International Youth Leader Chapter 31 Millennial Santri 2021 is held online throughout Indonesia through three stages, namely selection for filing, writing essays, and interviews. From the results of the selection, 31 of the best young people from all universities in Indonesia were selected who were then dispatched to Istanbul, Turkey.

In its implementation, Ilham Febryan and other delegation participants carried out several activities. The first is to do a halal tour to learn about the history of Islam, and the culture in Turkey. Second, conducting aprogram market research that aims to open links in doing business abroad with the hope that young people will be able to expand their business and create jobs for the surrounding community, not only expecting jobs from companies that have an impact on unemployment rates and fear of pursuing higher education. Third, conducting a Forum Discussion Group using English which aims to train the communication skillsskills and public speaking of the delegates in conveying ideas. Fourth, conduct peer-to-peer competitions that aim to form team work and train how a leader can influence his team in achieving goals.

Ilham febryan admitted that he was very grateful and proud of his success in qualifying as one of 31 student delegations from all universities in Indonesia in the International Youth Leader Chapter for Millennial Santri “Santri Unggul Indonesia Makmur” in Istanbul, Turkey 2021.

“Alhamdulillah, hopefully thanks to this program I can learn to develop myself, form relationships and exchange ideas to create a creative and innovative spirit in spreading da’wah, because in the current era of the industrial revolution, we must take part in the development of the times for the advancement of civilization, especially Indonesia. Thank you to all those who have supported, helped and prayed for me all this time,” said Ilham (Thursday, 7/10) via WhatsApp.

 

3 UPIEc Students Won 3 Awards Arabic World Festival (AWFest) Competition

Three students of the Islamic Economics Study Program won 3 awards in 3 branches of the Arabic World Festival (AWFest) competition which was held online by Ahmad Dahlan University from 5 to 10 October 2021. Arabic World Festival (AWFest) is a national standard competition event, with the focus of the competition is to use Arabic to train the quality of Human Resources, especially in the Arabic language.

This year, UAD’s Arabic World Festival (AWFest) raised the big theme “Inspirational Millennials and the Existence of Arabic in an Intellectual Civilization”. There are 2 levels in the competition, namely the student level and the student level. For the student level, the competitions that can be participated in include Ghina Araby, Arabic Speech, and Arabic News Reading. Then, the student-level competition consists of Arabic Poetry and Arabic Speech only.

There are several achievements achieved by the delegation of Islamic Economics Study Program Students under the auspices of El-Markazi, including 1st Place in Arabic News Reading Competition by Naila Nurul Hikmah (2018 Islamic Economics), 2nd Place in Ghina Araby Competition by Rima Isfah Lana (Islamic Economics 2017). ), and 1st Winner of the Arabic News Reading Competition by Luthfi Hawari (Islamic Economics 2020).

“I am very grateful to be given the opportunity again by Allah SWT to proceed to become someone who is more optimistic and competitive by participating in the competition, because there are so many lessons that can be taken outside of teaching and learning activities on campus,” said Naila Nurul Hikmah as the winner of the News Reading Competition. Furthermore, Siti Komariah as the Coordinator of the Arabic Language of El-Markazi, admitted that she was very grateful for the achievements obtained by the student delegation of the Islamic Economics Study Program. For him, winning or losing in competitions is a process of forming great people.

“I am very grateful, what my friends have tried to get the best results. Of course, this cannot be separated from the enthusiasm of friends to practice in preparing for the competition, “said Siti Komariah.

Luthfi Hawari also said that he was very grateful for his achievements. “Alhamdulillah, I was given the opportunity to take part in this competition. Strong will and determination are the main keys that must always be applied to life which is then accompanied by prayer to Allah SWT, “he said (Tuesday, 19/10).

2 UPIEc students won 3rd place in the Sharia Economics Conference Held by FEB UI

The Undergraduate Program of Islamic Economics (UPIEc), Faculty of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) is again proud. Two Islamic Economics students won 3rd place in the Sharia Economics Conference which was held virtually on 15 to 24 September 2021 by the Islamic Studies Forum, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FSI FEB UI). This proud achievement was achieved by Mia Yuli Astuti (Mia) and Ulfi Sheila Pinasti (Sheila) Islamic Economics student batch 2018.

This year’s Islamic Economics Conference took the big theme “Amplifying The Role of Islamic Economy to Establish The Future Economic Development” which aims to bring together students from all over Indonesia to think critically by conveying ideas and ideas within the scope of Islamic Economics.

Universities participating in this conference are the Indonesian Islamic University, University of Indonesia, Brawijaya University, Airlangga University, Tazkia Islamic Institute, Diponegoro University, Bogor Agricultural University, Semarang State University, IAIN Salatiga, and Padjadjaran University.

Sheila said that in the implementation of the conference there were 3 stages. The first stage begins with the selection of the best 40 abstracts in the Call for Paper. Then the second stage, the elimination of the 10 best papers in the Sharia Academic category and the 10 best papers in the Innovation Paper category. Third stage, final. At this stage, participants are asked to present the results of their paper to the jury and other teams that enter the final round.

The paper presented by Sheila and her team with the title “The Influence of Influencer Marketing, Brand Image, Halal Awareness on Cosmetic Purchase Interest in Generation Z” was awarded as the 3rd place winner in the Sharia Academic Paper category.

“The assessment of the Sharia Economic Conference is not only when participants present papers, but the activity in the question and answer session during the presentation is also a consideration in the assessment,” Mia said during an interview via WhatsApp (Monday, 12/10).

This success was achieved by teamwork, support and prayers from the parties involved. According to Sheila, her and the team’s achievements are a reminder that everyone has the same opportunities and opportunities. The only difference is how we maximize the process.
